BUILT AROUND YOUR BUSINESS

What matters for
United States bookkeeping.

Bring to the first discussion

  • Your entity type, state and the people responsible for accounting decisions.
  • The reporting period, bookkeeping basis and account categories your accountant expects.
  • USD bank and card statements, invoices, receipts and payment-processor reports.
  • Whether additional currencies, sales channels or separate entities need their own records.

Agree the handoff you need

  • An agreed chart of accounts and a source-document trail for recorded transactions.
  • Reconciliation notes for bank, card and agreed payment-processor accounts.
  • A list of missing records or transactions requiring an owner’s decision.
  • Profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and agreed sales-tax tracking schedules for review by your US accountant. Tax treatment and filing decisions remain with your adviser.
Start with the source documents
For US businesses, connect each bookkeeping entry to the records behind it: invoices, sales reports, bills, receipts and bank activity. Confirm the reporting basis and classification with your accountant, then keep unresolved items visible rather than guessing.

  • Reconciliations and workpapers prepared against your review checklist.
  • Named contacts, agreed communication windows and client contact only with your authorisation.

An engagement built around your firm

  • Share the client portfolio, software, periods and volume needing support.
  • Agree recurring capacity or a defined catch-up or peak-period assignment.
  • Confirm fees, turnaround, reviewer responsibilities and confidentiality before onboarding.

CLEAR RESPONSIBILITIES FROM THE START

From your setup
to a shared working rhythm.

Understand your setup

Start with a discovery conversation about your business or firm, country, software, transaction volume and any backlog. Agree deliverables and fees before work begins.

Agree access & scope

Agree confidentiality, record location, named contacts and reporting dates. Use individual accountant invitations with only the access needed; do not share banking passwords.

Organise & reconcile

Address any agreed catch-up work, then record activity and reconcile accounts each month. Keep missing documents and unresolved items visible for your review.

Review & hand over

Review the monthly close, explain significant movements and share reports with your business or accountant. Agree deadlines around complete records and your review calendar.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The scope is agreed.
The next step is clear.

Discuss bookkeeping support

  • Transaction recording and source-document organisation.
  • Bank and card account reconciliation.
  • Catch-up work for a defined period, if required.
  • Agreed reports and review notes for your business or local accountant.

Confirm separately

  • Tax advice, return filing and statutory lodgements.
  • Payroll approvals, payment execution and any required registrations or professional sign-off.
  • Software migration, integrations or complex multi-currency work.
  • Fees, reporting dates, permissions and communication availability.

USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you get started.

Is US tax filing included?

This page covers bookkeeping and an organised accountant handoff. Federal or state tax filing, sales-tax advice and regulated sign-off require a separately confirmed scope and an appropriately authorised adviser.

What if I collect payments through several platforms?

List your payment processors and sales channels at the start. We can assess the statements, settlement reports and transaction volume needed for a scoped reconciliation workflow.

Do I need to share sensitive documents now?

No. Use the enquiry to describe your business and requirement. Do not attach records or share passwords. A suitable access and document-sharing process is agreed during onboarding.

How is the quote prepared?

The team needs to understand transaction volume, accounts, entities, periods outstanding, record quality and reporting requirements before confirming a scope and quote.

Can you help with bills, invoices and payroll records?

Yes. Accounts payable, receivables ageing and payroll journal entries from your payroll provider can be included in the agreed bookkeeping scope. Payment approvals and payroll execution remain separately assigned.

How will access to our records be managed?

Confidentiality terms, record location and access responsibilities are agreed before onboarding. Use individual accountant access, limit permissions to the assigned team and arrange access removal when the engagement ends. Never share banking passwords or sensitive records through this enquiry form.
